Who is Goddess Saraswati?
Goddess Saraswati is a Manas Putri (a daughter who is created just by thoughts) of Lord Brahma who is also known as the creator of the Universe. She is created from Brahma’s mouth as the incarnation of wisdom. According to Hindu culture, Lord Brahma has an important place in the three Gods (Trimurti). The other two are Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.
How Does Goddess Saraswati Look Like?
Goddess Saraswati is commonly portrayed with four arms wearing a white sari and seated on a pink or white lotus. In one hand appearing from the backside, she holds a book and rosary in the other hand. Out of the two hands on the front side, she is playing the Veena (an ancient musical instrument). From both sides, two peacocks gaze at her.
Same as the Lord Brahama, Maa Saraswati has an important place among the three Goddesses (Trishakti). The other two are Goddess Parvati and Goddess Laxmi. She is the mother of Vedas.
She shines bright like the moon and wears pure white garments. Her rhythmic garland is decorated with the harp and gravity in her hand. She is seated on the white lotus. Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva even these Gods worship her to receive blessings from her.
